河馬先生甜點店 Le Hippo Dessert

這家店位於車水馬龍的大馬路上,車流極快,在開始做設計之前我們思考一件事,如何讓路過的人視線能停留?

因此,我們將一樓入口退縮2米,釋出前方空間供消費者彈性使用。外觀牆面使用大量白色穿透性鐵件,希望透過乾淨的材質,跳脫周遭立面凌亂色彩,在最短的時間吸引消費者目光。白天自然光映在室內水磨石地板上,清透且溫潤的肌理能立即向消費者傳達「純粹、天然、乾淨」的品牌形象。

為了呈現甜點使用新鮮天然食材的特質,從大門口進入到室內空間,建材選擇在地的材料,表面未經加工的夾板裸板,為空間注入原始木質色調,手工鏝抹的塗料有強烈的溫潤質感,散發出一種質樸的特性。

This dessert store is located on a busy street with high traffic flow. Hence, how to attract passers-by’s attention was our focus before we made any design.

First, we retract the entrance by 2 meters, so that there is space for customers to hang out in front of the store. Then, we use white hollow-out metal wall for the façade to stand out from the noisy colors of nearby buildings, hoping to swiftly attract the eyeball of potential customers. During the day, natural light shines on the terrazzo floor, conveying their brand image—pure, natural, and clean—towards the customers.

Le Hippo Dessert uses natural and fresh ingredients to make their desserts. Therefore, we use local construction materials, raw plywood, wood color tones, and trowel coating to manifest this idea.

Via the simple design style, we hope to make customers feel that this is a store that appreciates and embodies local culture. And we hope that customers enjoy the space as much as the desserts.


若要在一條30米寬的大馬路上開一家甜點店,那會是什麼模樣 ?

這家店位於民雄車水馬龍的大馬路上,車流極快,我們先思考一件事,如何讓路過的人視線能停留? 因此,我們將一樓入口硬是退縮2米,釋出前方空間供消費者彈性使用。外觀牆面使用大量白色鐵件設計,希望透過乾淨的材質,跳脫左鄰右舍立面凌亂色彩,能在最短的時間吸引到消費者目光,也傳達出甜點的「純粹、天然、乾淨」的品牌形象。


思考如何讓甜點成為主角

為了呈現甜點使用新鮮天然食材的特質,從大門口進入到室內空間,建材的選擇使用質樸、更具有在地性的材料,跳脫甜點店大部分都以西方歐式元素呈現。以簡約的手法處理空間,清楚讓消費者了解到這是一間具有「在地文化」的店鋪,因其獨特且吸引人的在地特質,更可能得到更多潛在顧客、媒體關注。

我們也希望讓上門的消費者和空間形成最真切的連結,如同甜點給人片刻幸福的感覺;細細品嚐美味甜點的同時,也能感受到空間予人清新舒適的氛圍。

What would it look like to open a dessert shop on a main road?

This shop is open on the main road in Chiayi, we think about one thing first, How can people’s eyes stay for a short time? So, We retreated the entrance on the first floor by 2 meters to free up the front space for consumers to use flexibly. The exterior is made by white iron. we hoped the clean material can escape the messy colors of the buildings on both sides and attract consumers in the shortest possible time. Convey a brand image of “pure, natural and clean”.


Thinking out of box:how to make dessert the focus?

In order to show the feature of using fresh and natural ingredients in desserts, the interior materials choose simple and more local materials, thinking out of box the dessert shops always presented in European style.

we use more simple methods to deal with interior, let consumers know this is a dessert shop with local culture, Unique and attractive local features are more likely to get  potential customers and media attention.

Consumers and the space form the most real emotion, like desserts give people a moment of happiness, also feel the fresh and comfortable atmosphere of the space.
